1. To know Christ. John 1:12 2. To glorify God. (His body God’s temple) 3. He is God’s unique creation. (What has evolution done for anyone’s self-image?) 4. God loves and reproves him. Proverbs 3:12 5. Parents love and correct him. (Don’t just scream; Demeaning doesn’t show love) 6. Forgiveness. (They will learn about forgiveness from us) 7. Accountable for own actions. (Let child take responsibility) 8. Obedience to authority. Romans 13:1-2 9. To be appreciative. 10. To speak kindly. Ephesians 4:31-32 11. To learn the Word of God. Psalm 119:11 (Well, really, read all of Psalm 119.) 12. Teach him to pray. Hebrews 4:16 Note – Our homes should be designed to teach these principles.
